abstract Non-enzymatic in vitro method for the isolation, expansion and development of fetal cells selected from the group consisting of fetal epiphyseal chondrocytes, fetal Achilles tendon tenocytes, or fetal skin fibroblasts comprising the steps of: a) using a fetal sample selected from ulnar fetal cartilage comprising fetal epiphyseal chondrocytes; fetal Achilles tendon comprising tenocytes from the fetal Achilles tendon; or fetal abdominal skin comprising fetal skin fibroblasts; b) mechanically microdissect and disperse said sample of cubital fetal cartilage, fetal Achilles tendon or fetal abdominal skin and allow the union of the sample of cubital fetal cartilage, fetal Achilles tendon or microdissected fetal abdominal skin within grooved notches with a scalpel ; c) culturing said sample of cubital fetal cartilage, fetal Achilles tendon or fetal abdominal skin in vitro in conditions in which said fetal epiphyseal chondrocytes, fetal Achilles tendon tenocytes or fetal abdominal skin fibroblasts proliferate, d) select and isolate the first cell populations of adherent fetal epiphyseal chondrocytes, first adherent fetal Achilles tendon tenocyte cell populations, and first adherent fetal skin fibroblast cell populations therefrom.
