abstract | A polyester comprising units derived from groups of monomers A, B and C, in which (a) the group of monomers A consists of (a1) monomers A1, or (a2) monomers A1 and monomers A2, monomers A1 and A2 monomers are present in a molar ratio of at least 31:69, in which the A1 monomers are selected from the group consisting of sulfonated aromatic dicarboxylic acid based monomers of the following general formulas (I), (II), (III) and (IV) ** Formula ** in which Rc represents -OH, or -OR with R being -alkyl (C1-C6), or -O-M + with M + being NH4 +, Li +, Na + or K +, or -O- (½ M2 +) with M2 + being Mg2 + or Ca2 +; and (i) Ra and Rb are independently selected from -halo, -OH, -OR1, -NH2 and -N (R1) 2 with R1 being -C1-C6 alkyl or -C (> = O) (C1) alkyl -C4), or (ii) Ra -Rb together represent an oxygen bridge -O-, and mixtures thereof, and in which the monomers A2 are selected from the group consisting of monomers based on unsulfonated aromatic dicarboxylic acid of the following general formulas (V), (VI) and (VII) ** Formula ** in which (i) Ra and Rb are independently selected from -halo, -OH, -OR1, -NH2 and - N (R1 ) 2 with R1 being - (C1-C6) alkyl or - C (> = O) (C1-C4) alkyl, or (ii) Ra -Rb together represent an oxygen bridge -O-, and mixtures thereof, (b) the group of monomers B consists of (b1) monomers B1, or (b2) monomers B1 and monomers B2, monomers B1 and monomers B2 are present in a molar ratio of at least 1: 9, in which the B1 monomers are selected from the group consisting of unsaturated dicarboxylic acid based monomers of the s following general formula (VIII) ** Formula ** in which L1 represents a linear or branched C2-C8 alkylene chain, and (i) Ra and Rb are independently selected from -halo, -OH, -OR1, -NH2 and - N (R1) 2 with R1 being - (C1-C6) alkyl or - C (> = O) (C1-C4) alkyl, or (ii) Ra -Rb together represent an oxygen bridge -O-, and mixtures thereof, and in which the B2 monomers are selected from the group consisting of saturated dicarboxylic acid based monomers of the following general formula (IX) ** Formula ** in which L2 represents a linear C1-C22 alkyl chain or branched, and (i) Ra and Rb are independently selected from -halo, -OH, -OR1, -NH2 and - N (R1) 2 with R1 being -alkyl (C1-C6) or - C (> = O) (C1-C4) alkyl, or (ii) Ra -Rb together represent an oxygen bridge -O-, and mixtures thereof, (c) the group of monomers C consists of (c1) C1 monomers, (c2) monomers C2, or (c3) C1 and C2 monomers, in which C1 monomers are selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol-based monomers of the following general formula (X) ** Formula ** in which n is an integer from 1 to 150, and mixtures thereof, and in which the C2 monomers are selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol monomers of the following general formula (XI) ** Formula ** in which n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, and mixtures thereof; in which the molar ratio of the units derived from the group of monomers A to the units derived from the group of monomers B is from 9: 1 to 1: 2.4 in the polyester, and in which the molar ratio of the units derived from the groups of monomers A and B to the units derived from the group of monomers C is from 1.3: 1 to 1: 1.3 in the polyester. |
