A method of preventing the aggregation of AAV2 virions (adeno-associated virus type 2) in a virion preparation, comprising adding one or more excipients to AAV2 virions to produce an isotonic virion preparation with an ionic strength of at least 250 mM , wherein the AAV2 virion concentration within the preparation exceeds 1x1013 vg / ml, and wherein one or more of the excipients comprises a multivalent ion. |
