Compositions comprising fusogenic proteins or polypeptides derived from prosaposin for application in transmembrane drug delivery systems |
abstract |
Composition for the therapeutic use of supplying an agent through a target biological membrane, characterized in that the composition applied to the membrane comprises a) one or more phospholipids selected from the group consisting of long chain phospholipids, short chain lipids and mixtures thereof; b) a safe and effective amount of an imaging agent having two or more imaging properties; c) a prosaposin-derived fusogenic protein or polypeptide; and d) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the concentration of the fusogenic protein or polypeptide is of a sufficient amount to deliver the agent through the membrane, and wherein the composition forms a liposome capable of fusing with the target biological membrane. |
