titleOfInvention Basket type device for the transport of biological samples
abstract A container assembly for storing a biological sample, said assembly comprising: a container (12) having a bottom (20), a side (18) and an open upper end (22), said container having a dimension to contain a volume of a reagent (138) sufficient to treat a biological sample (136); a closure lid (14; 150) for engaging said open top end (22) of said container; and a sample holder (16, 152) that includes a side wall (72, 174) and coupled to said lid and that is positioned to be received in said container (12), said sample holder having an internal cavity (84; 194) with a dimension for receiving a biological sample, said support having a plurality of fluid openings (74; 176) within said cavity to allow free flow of said reagent into said cavity while retaining said biological sample in said cavity said sample holder having a dimension to fit between said bottom (20) and side (18) of said container and said lid and to immerse said cavity in said reagent, said cavity of said sample holder having a volume to limit the size of said biological sample to maintain a predetermined proportion of an amount of said biological sample with respect to an amount of said reagent to treat said biological sample, characterized in that l sample holder (16; 152) has an open lower end (78; 196) and an upper end (80) in which an upper wall (82) is coupled to said side wall (72, 174), said closing cover closes said open upper end of said container; and said open lower end being provided with a closing member (108, 198) to close said open lower end, said closing member being able to pivot from said open lower end, wherein said closing element is coupled to said sample holder and is pivotable about an axis oriented in a plane parallel to a plane of said side wall (72).
