titleOfInvention A PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF NEW ANALOGS OF ESTRADIOL AND ITS FUNCTIONAL DERIVATIVES
abstract A process for the preparation of 18-nor 13beta-alcoholic or aralkyl estradiols, their esters and ethers, mainly characterized in that it comprises the succession of operations in which a 3,5-diketo 13beta-alcoholyl or aralkyl is cyclized in alkaline medium 17beta-acyloxy 4,5secodelta9-gonene, the 3-keto 13beta-alcohol or aralkyl 17beta-acyloxidelta4,9-gonadiene resulting is isomerized with the aid of an appropriate catalyst in the corresponding ester of 18-nor 13beta-alcohol or aralkyl estradiol which is saponified and transforms, where appropriate, into other desired functional derivatives such as esters, ethers, etc.
