abstract |
A chimeric or fusion protein capable of inducing an immune response to P. gingivalis, the protein comprising a first peptide linked directly or via a linker to a second polypeptide, wherein: (A) said first peptide comprises a region of a P.gingival trypsin-like enzyme selected from the group consisting of: (i) a sequence that is the same as the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1; (ii) a sequence that is the same as the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 2; (iii) the sequence shown in one of SEQ ID NOs: 27 to 30; and (iv) the sequence shown in one of SEQ ID NOs: 31 to 34; (B) said second polypeptide comprises a P. gingivalis adhesin domain, selected from the group consisting of: 15 (i) a sequence that is the same as the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 35; and (ii) a sequence that is the same as the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 36 or 37. |
