Breaking apparatus and trans-epithelial tissue collection by friction and method to induce and / or increase an immune response |
abstract |
A fabric configured to abrasively rub epithelial surfaces to collect samples of epithelial tissue comprising: a support material; and a plurality of fenestrated loops (1) attached to the support material, said loops (1) having sufficient flexibility and rigidity to scrape frictionfully said epithelial surfaces (7), where the loops (1) have a short hook end, being the hook end of the loops (1) oriented towards the support material; and in which the hooks are arranged in rows and create channels that collect and trap tissue within the channels; the fabric being characterized in that the distance from the top of the loop (1) to the bottom of the hook is less than 20% of the length of the loop (1), in which said loops (1) are approximately 3 mm to approximately 25 mm in length |
