titleOfInvention | Orally disintegrable dose form |
abstract | A process for making a dosage form comprising: a) providing a gap i) providing a product unit foil having a gap in a desired shape and a volume suitable for containing an orally disintegrable dosage form; or ii) preparing an edible outer part having a gap in a desired shape and a volume suitable to contain an orally disintegrable part of said dosage form b) introducing a fluid material into the gap, said fluid material (i) comprising at least 5% by weight, of at least one hydrated salt, (ii) a pharmaceutically active agent and (iii) at least one carbohydrate, where said at least one hydrated salt has a dehydration temperature of from 20 to 120 ° C. c) heating the fluid material in the well to a temperature above said dehydration temperature for said hydrated salt for a period of time sufficient to cause the material to melt into an aggregate; and d) cooling the aggregate in the recess so that the aggregate solidifies in said dosage form, said dosage form comprising at least 40% by weight, at least one carbohydrate. |
