abstract |
Adenosine A2a receptor agonist for use in a method for the reduction or prevention of an oxygen-induced exacerbation of lung inflammation in response to oxygen therapy in a patient suffering from inflammatory diseases prior to the introduction of oxygen in increased amounts , where the method comprises administering said adenosine A2a receptor agonist to the patient prior to oxygen therapy, where oxygen therapy comprises administering to the patient an increased amount of oxygen that is greater than the ambient oxygen level and where the oxygen-induced exacerbation of the patient's lung inflammation at said increased amount of oxygen is reduced or prevented compared to the oxygen-induced exacerbation of the lung inflammation in the absence of said adenosine A2a receptor agonist. |
