A circular or semicircular surgical stapling device, comprising: an anvil and a tubular body portion; a plurality of fasteners arranged in grooves for fasteners of the tubular body portion, and cavities that are formed for fasteners provided on the anvil; and a surgical buttress having a body portion and a skirt on the circumferential periphery of the stapling apparatus; the body portion of the surgical buttress being configured and sized to substantially cover at least some of the fastener grooves of the tubular body potion; characterized in that: said skirt is elastic and is elastically driven on said tubular body portion. |
