titleOfInvention | Obtaining images of individual mRNA molecules, using multiple probes labeled with a single marker |
abstract | A method for detecting a first target sequence of individual mRNA molecules in a fixed permeabilized cell, and said method comprises: immersing the fixed permeabilized cell in a hybridization solution containing an excess of a first set of at least 30 hybridization probes of non-overlapping nucleic acids, which have complementary sequences of said first target sequence, which are 7 to 30 nucleotides in length and which are labeled with a single marker: the same first fluorophore marker of a first color; wash the fixed cell to remove unbound probes; and detecting the points of said first fluorophore in the washed fixed cell. |
