A process for the production of a compound represented by the formula (I) or a compound represented by the formula (II): ** Formula ** in which R1 is an ethyl group, the process (1) comprising making a mixture of the compound represented by formula (I) and compound represented by formula (II) react in the presence of: (i) a reductase or an alcohol dehydrogenase, (ii) a coenzyme, and (iii) formic acid or a salt thereof and / or glucose in a buffer solution to convert the compound represented by the formula (I) into a compound represented by the formula (I ') or the compound represented by the formula (II) into a compound represented by the formula (II) : ** Formula ** in which R1 is an ethyl group, and then (2) separate the compound represented by the formula (I) from the compound represented by the formula (II ') or separate the compound represented by the formula (II) of the compound represented by formula (I ') to produce the compound re presented by formula (I) or the compound represented by formula (II). |
