titleOfInvention Polynucleotide primers to detect PIK3CA mutations
abstract A method for detecting the presence or absence of a mutation in the PIK3CA gene comprising the steps of: a) mixing a sample of nucleic acid comprising at least one fragment of the PIK3CA gene with a first primer and a second primer and carrying carried out PCR in the mixture; and b) detecting hybridization of the first primer with the nucleic acid sample, where hybridization indicates the presence of a mutation, where the first primer can hybridize with the mutant sequence H1047R of the PIK3CA gene but is not complementary to the wild type sequence and wherein the six final nucleotides at the 3 'end of the first primer are identical to the six final nucleotides at the 3' end of SEQ ID NO. 21, wherein the primer hybridizes with the mutant sequence more easily than with the wild type sequence and where the second primer corresponds to a region of the fragment of the PIK3CA sequence downstream of the region of which the first primer is complementary .
