abstract |
A process for the production of an insulin-like peptide having at least two peptide chains, A and B, the A chain and the B chain being linked by at least one disulfide bridge, the process of which comprises: providing a fully A peptide chain unprotected and a fully unprotected B chain, each chain containing at least one cysteine residue and each chain optionally having an intramolecular disulfide bridge, and chain B containing an oxidized methionine residue; combining fully unprotected A chain and fully unprotected B chain under conditions such that at least one intramolecular disulfide bridge is formed to link A chain and B chain; and reducing the oxidized methionine residue to produce the insulin-like peptide. |
