titleOfInvention Method of replacing a dispersion medium
abstract A method of substituting one dispersion medium with another in a substitution tank (12), the substitution tank (12) being made of stainless steel and having a diameter of 0.3 to 0.7 m and a height of 1 to 20 m, the replacement tank (12) being equipped with an outlet port (19) in the lower part of the replacement tank (12), a feeding port (18) arranged in proximity to the lower part of the replacement tank ( 12), a cyclone-shaped nozzle (16) arranged in the upper portion of the replacement tank (12), the cyclone-shaped nozzle comprising as a hollow body of revolution, a cylindrical portion having an axis of vertical extension and an opening arranged in a vertically lower end, the cylindrical portion of which has a diameter of 0.1 to 1 m, and a discharge port (20) arranged in the upper portion of the replacement tank (12), the method comprising the steps of : feed an initial suspension containing Isophthalic acid crystals at a concentration of 10 to 45% by weight in a first dispersion medium to a nozzle (16) in the form of a cyclone through a feed valve (14) and a feed port (15), feeding tangentially the initial suspension in the hollow body of revolution in order to allow the initial suspension to move circularly along an inner wall of the hollow body of revolution, discharge the initial solution that is moving circularly from the nozzle opening ( 16) in the form of a cyclone, contacting the initial solution discharged from the nozzle (16) in the form of a cyclone with a second dispersion medium that is fed from the feed port (18) that flows upwards through the tank of substitution (12); evenly distribute and disperse the initial solution in the second dispersion medium in a horizontal direction while maintaining circular motion, settle by gravity the dispersed isophthalic acid crystals throughout the entire rich phase in the second dispersion medium, concentrate the solution substituted compound composed of isophthalic acid crystals and mainly the second dispersion medium in the lower portion of the substitution tank (12), and discharge the substituted solution comprising isophthalic acid crystals and the second dispersion medium from the outlet port (19 ) using a discharge pump (13), and extract the first dispersion medium from the discharge port (20), while maintaining the internal temperature of the replacement tank (12) between 80 and 180 ° C.
