titleOfInvention Plant cell cultures of the genus Centella, production process and uses thereof
abstract A plant cell culture of a plant of the genus Centella, said plant cell culture comprising an amount of madecasoside comprised from 85% to 95% by weight, and an amount of asiaticoside from 5% to 15% by weight, the% being weight of madecasósido and asiaticósido with respect to the total weight of the centellósidos in the cellular culture, and obtainable by: a) culture by means of cell suspension of an undifferentiated vegetal cell of a plant of the Centella genus in a suitable growth medium during a period comprised of 8 to 15 days until the stationary growth phase is reached; to obtain a stationary phase culture; b) adding 3 doses of a jasmonate compound to the stationary phase culture of step a), in which each of the added doses corresponds to such an amount of jasmonate compound that the final concentration at the end of each addition is from 80 μM to 150 μM; and where the three doses of the jasmonate compound are added with the following schedule: (i) the first dose once the culture of stage a) has reached the stationary growth phase; (ii) the second dose is added 3 to 5 days later with respect to the first addition; (iii) the third dose is added 8 to 11 days later with respect to the first addition.
