Bacterial strain of Micromonospora matsumotoense producing paulomycins and paulomycin produced by it. # The invention provides a new bacterial strain of Micromonospora matsumotoense isolated from its natural environment and deposited in the Spanish Type Culture Collection under the accession number (CECT 9281), which is capable of efficiently producing by fermentation an antitumor compound of the paulomycin family. Specifically, this strain is a producer of a new paulomycin, designated herein as paulomycin G, which exhibits cytotoxic activity against tumor cells, preferably human, preferably pancreas, breast and liver. |
