titleOfInvention | Improved administration of skin benefit agents |
abstract | Provesicle for the improved administration of skin benefit agents through the formation of a vesicular phase in the presence of water in cosmetic products applied topically, said provesicle comprising: (i) the benefit agent to be administered, ( ii) a phospholipid, (iii) a glycerol mono-, di- or tri-ester, (iv) a straight or branched chain propyl or butyl ester of C14 to C18 fatty acid, and (v) a cosmetically acceptable base; in which said cosmetically acceptable base is chosen from glucose, sorbitol, talc or stearic acid and in which components (i) to (iv) are deposited, and in which a provesicle is a set of lipids in a carrier system that in the presence of water it spontaneously provides a vesicular phase, the carrier system being in the form of a cosmetically acceptable base, wherein the cosmetically acceptable base is present in an amount ranging from 30 to 96% by weight of the provesicle. |
