titleOfInvention External mobile coupling for connection of vascular branches
abstract An endovascular graft comprising: a tubular body (107) having a proximal end (106), a distal end (108), and a lumen (116) disposed between the proximal and distal ends (106, 108), including the tubular body (107) a body graft material (102) and a plurality of stents (104) coupled to the body graft material (102); a movable external coupling (120) that includes an extended configuration where the movable external coupling (120) extends outward from the tubular body (107), where the movable external coupling (120) is generally frusto-conical in shape and includes a base ( 124) coupled to the tubular body (107), an upper portion (126) spaced from the tubular body (107), and a coupling lumen (130) disposed between the base (124) and the upper portion (126), where the lumen coupling (130) is in fluid communication with body lumen (116) and wherein the movable external coupling (120) includes a coupling graft material (128); and a coupling deployment device (132) coupled to the movable external coupling (120), wherein the coupling deployment device (132) is also coupled to one of the plurality of stents (104) coupled to the body graft material ( 102) and where the coupling deployment device (132) extends generally longitudinally along the movable external coupling (120) in the extended configuration, where the movable external coupling (120) and the coupling deployment device (132) include a folded configuration where the movable external coupling (120) and the coupling deployment device (132) are folded against the tubular body (107), and where the coupling deployment device (132) is configured to store energy in the folded configuration such that when released from the folded configuration, the coupling deployment device (132) provides an extension force to e xtend the movable external coupling (132) in the extended configuration.
