A high performance polyethylene (HPPE) member comprising at least 5% by weight of a radiopaque component, wherein the HPPE member has a Young's modulus of at least 30 GPa measured by the method described in example 6, is biocompatible, which means that it comprises less than 100 ppm of organic solvent, and the radiopaque component is a particulate material, at least partially disposed within an HPPE filament of the HPPE member, and the radiopaque component has a size of particle of at least 0.05 μm and at most μm, measured as the average particle diameter of primary particles by means of a Zetasizer nano device after ultrasonic treatment in a sonics vibracell in decalin with 1% OLOA 1200. |
