titleOfInvention | Hydrocarbon polymers comprising two terminal groups with 2-oxo-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl terminations, their preparation and use |
abstract | Process for the preparation of at least one hydrocarbon polymer bearing two terminal groups with 2-oxo-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl terminations, said process comprising at least one stage of polymerization by opening the cycle by metathesis in the presence: - of at least one metathesis catalyst, preferably a catalyst comprising ruthenium, more preferably a Grubbs catalyst; - of at least one chain transfer agent (CTA) compound of formula (15):**Formula**, the Z group being made up of at least one alkylene group eventually linked to a divalent carboxyl or oxy group, carrying the Z group from 1 to 19 carbon atoms and q being an integer equal to 0 or 1; and - of at least one compound selected from the compounds comprising at least one hydrocarbon ring and generally from 6 to 16, preferably from 6 to 12, carbon atoms for each ring, said ring comprising at least one carbon-carbon double bond , and the substituted derivatives of this compound, said compound having formula (7)**Formula** in which: - each carbon-carbon bond of the chain indicated with is a double bond or a single bond, according to the valence rules of organic chemistry; - the groups R1 and R6 are both hydrogen or each is different from hydrogen and are linked together as members of the same saturated or unsaturated ring or heterocycle (that is, bearing at least one carbon-carbon double bond, including those aromatic); - the groups R2, R3, R4 and R5, are each, independently or not of the other groups, a hydrogen, a halogen group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or an alkyl group, the groups R2 to R5 being able to be linked together as members of the same saturated or unsaturated ring or heterocycle; - m and p are integers each included in a range from 0 to 5, the sum m + p itself being included in a range from 0 to 6, - this stage being carried out for a time strictly greater than 3h when the compound of the formula (15) is 4-vinyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one, and for a time greater than or equal to 2h in all other cases. |
