abstract Procedure for obtaining a new methyl ester of 18-O-methyl-reserpic acid and its salts, characterized in that 18-O-methyl-reserpic acid, or its salts, are transformed into the methyl ester or salts of quaternary 18-O-reserpic acid methyl ester are dequaternized or Delta3-dehydro-18-O-methyl-reserpic acid methyl ester, or salts thereof, are reduced to epi-alloyhombonic compound or 18-acid methyl ester -O-methyl-isoreserpic, or its salts are epimerized in the 3-position or 18-O-methyl-reserpic acid ester, or its salts, are re-esterified with methanol or 18-O acid methyl ester N-oxide -methyl-reserpic, or its salts are reduced and, if desired, the free base obtained is converted to salts or the salts obtained are converted to the free base.
