abstract |
A method for creating a moisture resistant composite material for baits, comprising: providing, in a bait enclosure, a plurality of pieces of a food cellulosic material that is palatable to at least one species of termite, defining the enclosure for the bait and the plurality of pieces of food cellulosic material an empty space between them; introducing an uncured mixture of polyurethane foam precursors into said bait enclosure, so that said mixture enters at least part of the empty space; and allowing said mixture to harden to provide a non-honeycomb polyurethane foam matrix that surrounds at least a piece of the plurality of said pieces of cellulosic food material, in which the polyurethane foam matrix encapsulates or compartmentalizes separately some or the all the pieces of food cellulosic material. |
