abstract | IOP control device (200) for implantation in an eye of a patient, comprising: a housing (516) sized for implantation inside the patient's eye and including an entry hole (518) and a hole output (520); a membrane (510) anchored within the housing in a manner that forms a flow control chamber (530) on a first side of the membrane and a fluid flow passage (524) on a second opposite side of the membrane, including the flow control chamber (530) a flow control chamber pressure and the fluid flow channel including a fluid flow channel pressure, the membrane (510) being configured to affect the flow through the passage of fluid flow from the inlet port (518) to the outlet port (520) by deflecting in response to the pressure differentials of the flow control chamber pressure and the fluid flow channel pressure acting on the sides membrane opposites; and a position sensor system (212) configured to detect the position of the membrane, which includes: a first conductive part (550); and a second conductive part (560) positioned to selectively contact the first conductive part to indicate the position of the membrane with respect to the fluid flow passage. |
