abstract |
A method for removing one or more metals from an exhaust gas comprising acidic components, said method comprises contacting the exhaust gas with a composition comprising an aqueous solution of at least one water-soluble alkaline earth polysulfide and at least one agent. redox buffer, said composition has a pH of 7 or more to prevent precipitation of the components, and after coming into contact with the exhaust gas the pH of the composition is reduced to between 4.5 to 6.5 so that the Polysulfide and the buffering agent coprecipitate to form an agent that reacts with the one or more metals in the exhaust gas. |
