A particulate composition comprising anhydrous crystalline 2-O-α-D-glucosyl-L-ascorbic acid, comprising 2-O-α-D-5 glucosyl-L-ascorbic acid in an amount of more than 98.0% in weight but less than 99.9% by weight, on a dry solid basis; having a degree of crystallinity of 90% or higher for the anhydrous crystalline 2-O-α-D-glucosyl-L-ascorbic acid, when calculated on the basis of a powder X-ray diffraction analysis profile of said composition; containing particles with a particle size of less than 150 μm in an amount of 70% by weight or greater than the entire particulate composition, and those having a particle size of at least 53 μm but less than 150 μm in an amount from 40 to 60% by weight of the entire composition; containing L-ascorbic acid and / or D-glucose; and that it has a reducing power of the entire composition that is less than one percent by weight. |
