abstract |
A method of preparing an aromatic polyether polymer comprising contacting, in a solvent of low polarity, substantially equimolar amounts of at least one alkali metal salt of a dihydroxysubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon and at least one bis (N- (chlorophthalimide) ) aromatic compound, in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst that is substantially stable at the temperatures employed; wherein all the particles of said alkali metal salt have a diameter less than or equal to 200 micrometers. |
