abstract | Procedure to protect vitamin D derivatives with SO {sub, 2} and corresponding use. Procedure for protecting vitamin D derivatives with SO {sub, 2}, to give compounds useful as intermediates for the synthesis of vitamin D analogs, in which the protection reaction is carried out in a continuous flow reactor, and in which a flow of a solution of SO {sub, 2} can be generated continuously, in parallel with the protection reaction. The process may include mixing a flow of a solution of said vitamin D derivative to be protected with a flow of a solution of SO {sub, 2}. SO {sub, 2} can be generated from a sulfurous acid derivative and an acid. |
