A method of generating energy, the method comprising: burning a carbonaceous fuel in a combustion chamber (1) in the presence of oxygen and a CO2 recirculation stream to produce a combined combustion product stream; passing the combined combustion product stream through a turbine (2) to generate power and form a turbine exhaust stream comprising CO2; passing the turbine exhaust stream comprising CO2 through a first heat exchanger (46) in order to transfer heat from the turbine exhaust stream to the CO2 recirculation stream and form a cooled exhaust stream of turbine; to pass a stream of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and CO2 from the cooled turbine exhaust stream through a second heat exchanger (21) in order to cool and liquefy the CO2 and to heat and vaporize the LNG to form a stream of liquefied CO2 and a stream of gaseous natural gas (GN); pressurize the stream of liquefied CO2 to form the stream of CO2 recirculation; and transfer the CO2 recirculation current to the combustion chamber (1). |
