abstract | An inhaler (1) comprising a housing (2), a blister strip (3) contained within said housing (2), said blister strip having a surface (6) and a plurality of blister cavities (5) which said dose (5), each blister cavity (5) containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and, a mechanism (7) for driving the blister strip includes a driving wheel (13) comprising a plurality of spokes (14), each radius (14) forming an arm of the blister drive mechanism (7), and a blister strip drive member (27) for driving said strip, said member (27) being of actuation disposed on one end of said arm, the actuator member (27) having the blisters strip leading and trailing edges (29, 32) having contact with the blister strip on opposite sides of an axis extending in a radial direction through said arm and the member (27) for actuating the blister strip so that the leading contact edge (29) of the blister strip makes contact with the strip (3) along a line defined by the fold (30) between a blister cavity (5) and said surface (6) when the actuator member (27) of the blister strip is rotated in one direction and so that the rear contact edge (32) of the blister strip makes contact with the strip (3) along a line defined by the fold (30) between an adjacent blister cavity (5) and said surface (6), when the actuator member (27) of the blister strip is made rotate in the opposite direction, in which the passage of the blister strip (3) is selected to be smaller than the passage of the drive wheel (13), characterized in that the actuating member (27) of the blisters are shaped to make contact with the strip (3) along said line defined by the pli egue (30) between said blister cavity (5) and said surface (6), the leading contact edge (29) being formed with the blister strip to coincide with that of the fold (30), and the distance between the folds (30) of adjacent blister bowls is the same as the distance between the front and rear edges (29, 32) of the blister strip drive member (27), with a nominal wheel tip width W2, equal to the distance between blisters, B2. |
