Use of an infrared dye as a reference in a method of detecting a moisture sensitive reagent compromised by ambient humidity disposed in a test strip, in which the moisture sensitive reagent relies on proteolytic substrates to detect protease enzymes or Protease inhibitors, said moisture sensitive reagent including a diazonium salt and developing color or other response just after applying a sample, color or other response that is measured and compared with the reference infrared dye. |
