abstract |
An ultrasound treatment system for non-ablative tissue treatment, comprising: a control system (20) configured to facilitate control of the ultrasound treatment system; a probe (18) controlled with the control system (20) and configured for the directed administration of non-ablative ultrasound energy (72) to a region of interest (12) comprising soft tissue and / or a pilosebaceous unit (68) below a skin surface (85); and a sensor connected to an audio or visual alarm system to prevent overuse of the system, in which the sensor is configured to detect the temperature of the region of interest (12) and is in communication with the control system (20) to force the control system (20) to stop the administration of non-ablative ultrasound energy (72) from the probe (18) if a temperature threshold has been reached. |
