abstract | A method for testing a sample of glatiramer acetate, the method comprising: (a) providing the sample of glatiramer acetate, where it is suspected that the sample comprises one or more polypeptides having a diethylamide moiety attached to a C-terminus of the themselves; (b) determine the amount of polypeptides having a diethylamide moiety attached to a C-terminus thereof in the sample by detecting diethylamide moieties when they are present at the C-terminus; (c) compare the amount of polypeptides having the diethylamide moiety attached to a C-terminus thereof in the sample with a predetermined pharmaceutical specification value for glatiramer acetate, where the specification value for glatiramer acetate has a range of about 7 mol% to about 20 mol% of polypeptides having a diethylamide moiety attached to a C-terminus thereof; and (d) classifying the sample based on the amount of polypeptides having diethylamide moieties attached to the C-terminus thereof in the sample, wherein the classification of the sample comprises approving the sample for pharmaceutical use. |
