titleOfInvention | A method to eliminate nucleic acid contamination in reverse transcription and amplification reactions |
abstract | A DNase or an enzymatically active fragment thereof, said DNase having the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a sequence that is at least 60% identical thereto, but in which the proline residue at position 237 of SEQ ID 5 No: 1, or the proline equivalent in other sequences, has been modified, deleted or substituted, wherein said DNase or enzymatically active fragment thereof is (i) irreversibly inactivated by at least 95% by heating to a temperature of 50 °C for min in a buffer consisting of 25 mM Tris/HCl, pH 8.5, 5 mM MgCl2 and 1 mM DTT; and (ii) substantially specific for double-stranded DNA. |
