titleOfInvention | Device for ocular alignment and coupling of eye structures |
abstract | A system (100) for defining a reference axis (18) of an eye (10) of a patient in an external coordinate system, characterized in that it comprises: (a) a light source (108) for directing a beam of coherent or focused light on a reflective surface (16) associated with the patient's eye, (b) an imaging system (102) for recording an image of a limbus (26) of the patient's eye and an image formed by a reflection of the light beam from the cornea (12) of the patient's eye, and (c) a processor operatively connected to the imaging system (102) for (i) from the image of the limbus (26), determine the center (30) of the patient's eye blade (10) in the external coordinate system, and (ii) from the reflection image, determine when the position of the reflection is coincident with the center (30) of the limbo, in which position an axis (18) normal to the cornea (12) in the corneal center defines the reference axis. |
