abstract | Bidentate ligand of general formula (I) ** Formula ** wherein: each of A and B independently represents a C1 to C10 alkylene linking group; R represents an aromatic hydrocarbyl structure having at least one aromatic ring to which Q1 and Q2 are each attached, through the respective linking group, on available adjacent atoms of at least one aromatic ring; the groups X3 and X4 independently represent univalent radicals of up to 30 atoms having at least one tertiary carbon atom or X3 and X4 together form a bivalent radical of up to 40 atoms having at least two tertiary carbon atoms where each of the univalent or bivalent radical is attached through at least one or two tertiary carbon atoms respectively to the respective Q1 atom; the groups X1 and X2 independently represent univalent radicals of up to 30 atoms having at least one primary or aromatic ring carbon atom, wherein in the latter case, the carbon attached to the Q2 atom is an aromatic carbon that is part of a aromatic ring substituted at a suitable position in the ring or X1 and X2 together form a bivalent radical of up to 40 atoms having at least two primary or aromatic ring carbon atoms, wherein in the latter case, the carbons attached to the atom of Q2 are aromatic carbons that are part of an aromatic ring substituted in a suitable position in the ring and wherein each said univalent or bivalent radical is attached through at least one or two primary or aromatic ring carbon atoms respectively to the respective Q2 atom; and Q1 and Q2 represent phosphorus. |
