abstract | A liquid tissue conditioning composition comprising: (a) a tissue conditioning base comprising a tissue conditioning active, which is a quaternary ammonium compound and having a pH of 2.0 to 5.0; and (b) a particle comprising: (b1) a capsule, comprising: (x) a core comprising a beneficial agent; e (y) a cover; and (b2) a coating comprising a modified polyvinyl alcohol; wherein the modified polyvinyl alcohol comprises: (i) a hydrophobic group, selected from an alkyl chain and an aryl chain, having 4 to 16 carbon atoms; and (ii) a hydrophilic group that is selected from an alkyl chain and an aryl chain, wherein said hydrophilic group has 4 to 16 carbon atoms and comprises an amine group selected from a primary, secondary and tertiary amine ; and (iii) a molar ratio of hydrophobic groups to hydrophilic groups of 1: 0.5 to 1:10; and wherein the particle has a weight ratio of the capsule to the coating in the range of 1: 1 to 4: 1; and the modified polyvinyl alcohol has a hydrophobic modification level of 2.0 to 15.0 mol%, with the condition that at a weight ratio of capsule to coating of 1: 1 to 1.25: 1 the hydrophobic modification level be 2 to 10% in moles. |
