titleOfInvention | PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING AN ADDITIVE COMPOSITION FOR INCORPORATION IN THE MIXTURES OF CONCRETE OR HYDRAULIC CEMENT |
abstract | Additive compositions for incorporation in hydraulic cement mixes comprise by weight of cement:- (a) 0,01 to 0,2% of a carbohydrate or derivative thereof consisting of a monosaccharide with 5 or 6 carbon atoms or a disaccharide which is a multiple of the monosaccharide (e.g. sorbitol, mannitol, dulcitol, glucose, arabinose, mannose, frustose, sorbose, gluconic acid and citric acid) (b) 0,05 to 2% of a water-soluble chloride such as an alkali or alkaline earth metal chloride or ammonium chloride (e.g. CaCl2) (c) 0,01 to 01 ,% of a water-soluble alkyl amine (e.g. mono-, di-, tri-or pro-ethanolamine) and (d) 0,01 to 0,1% of a water-soluble ethylene oxide condensation product, such as including compounds as phenol, fatty acids, alcohols, esters, aldehydes or amines, or their substituted compounds (e.g. polyethenoxyoctylphenol). A mix for moulded masonry units or cement blocks contains, with the cement and additive, aggregate and water other materials may be included, such as pozzuolana, fly-ash, water-repellants and air-entraining agents. |
