Anchoring element suitable for use in a polyaxial bone anchoring device, including the anchoring element (1, 1 ', 1' ', 1' '', 101): a bone anchoring section (2) having a first end (21), a second end (22) and a bone coupling structure, at least in a part of an outer surface thereof; a head (3), in which a central axis (C) extends through the respective centers of the head and the first and second ends of the bone anchoring section; a neck (24; 24 '; 24' ') between the first end of the bone anchor section and the head, the neck being asymmetric with respect to the central axis; and an alignment arrangement (331; 24) intended to identify an orientation of the asymmetry of the neck in relation to the central axis; characterized in that the alignment arrangement includes a recess (330) for an instrument, the recess (330) having a star shape with an enlarged part on one side. |
