abstract |
A method of distinguishing between an animal that has been infected with Ehrlichia canis and an animal that has not been infected with E. canis, the method comprising: (a) contacting a biological sample of an animal with one or more purified polypeptides that comprise the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 10; and (b) detect if the antibodies in the sample specifically bind to the one or more purified polypeptides; where if the antibodies in the sample specifically bind to the one or more purified polypeptides, in that case the animal has been infected with E. canis. |
