An anticorrosive coating composition comprising: a binder polymer; a corrosion-inhibiting pigment comprising aluminum phosphate dispersed within the binder polymer, wherein the aluminum phosphate comprises amorphous aluminum phosphate; wherein the coating composition comprises in the range of about 1 to 25% by weight of aluminum phosphate, and in which the coating composition provides a controlled release of phosphate in the range of about 50 to 500 ppm, preferably of Approximately 100 to 200 ppm, when applied to the metal substrate and when contacted with water and oxygen. |
