abstract A method of determining a pharmacological intervention strategy for an individual, the method comprising determining an imprint loss status (LOI) of insulin-like growth factor type 2 (IGF2), from a sample taken from the individual; and determining a pharmacological intervention strategy for the individual based on the determined LOI status, in which the individual has an LOI and therefore is or is at risk of developing colorectal cancer, the intervention strategy comprises administering to the individual an inhibitor of signal pathway activation by IGF2 and, if the individual does not have an LOI, the intervention strategy does not comprise administering said inhibitor to the individual.
