titleOfInvention | Powdered carotinoid preparation for beverage dyeing |
abstract | Procedure for the production of a powder preparation containing: from 1 to 20% by weight of at least one carotinoid, selected from the group consisting of ß-carotine, astaxanthin, cantaxanthin, citranaxanthin, lycopene and lutein, from 3 to 60 % by weight of modified starch, from 3 to 60% by weight of glucose, from 0.5 to 10% by weight of at least one antioxidant, and from 0.5 to 6.5% by weight of residual water moisture, where the weight% data refers to dry powder that still contains residual moisture and in which the weight ratio of carotinoid to modified starch is 1: 3 to 1: 7, and the modified octenyl succinate starch being treated of starch, which comprises the steps of a1) dissolving the carotinoid in an organic solvent miscible with water or in a mixture of water and an organic solvent miscible with water at temperatures above 30 ° C, or a2) dissolving the carotinoid in an organic solvent not miscible with water, selected from the group or of dimethyl carbonate, propylene carbonate, ethyl formate, ethyl acetate, isopropyl acetate and methyl tert-butyl ether, b) mixing the solution obtained according to a1) or a2) with a molecularly dispersed or colloidal dispersed aqueous solution of a mixture of glucose and modified starch, the hydrophobic phase of the carotinoid being generated as a nanodispersed phase c) transformation of the dispersion formed into a dry powder by separation of the main amount of water and, if necessary, solvent used further and then dried. |
