A fatty source of edible plant origin enzymatically prepared to promote the development of beneficial intestinal flora in a subject, wherein said fatty source is a fatty source of triglycerides comprising triglycerides with 15% -55% of palmitic acid residues of the total fatty acids, and in which the level of palmitic acid residues in the sn-2 position of the main glycerol structure is at least 30% of the total palmitic acid; and wherein said fat source has an effect on the colonization of at least one pathogenic bacterium in the subject's intestine, said effect being selected from the group consisting of inhibiting, preventing and reducing the colonization of at least one pathogenic bacterium. |
