abstract Method of governing a nuclear reactor (100) of pressurized water, said reactor comprising: - a core (30) that produces a power; - a plurality of groups of control rods (40) of the reactivity of said core (30) capable of occupying within the core (30) a plurality of insertion positions staggered vertically from a high position; - means for acquiring magnitudes representative of the operating conditions of the core; said process comprising the steps consisting of: - measuring the effective power (Pe) of the nuclear reactor; - acquire a setpoint value of the desired target power (Pc) of the nuclear reactor (100); the said procedure being characterized in that it further comprises the steps consisting of: - acquiring an estimated duration (DURATION) of power increase to arrive at the said setpoint value of the desired target power (Pc), the said estimated duration corresponding (DURATION) ) to the power increase duration to pass from said effective power (Pe) to said target power setpoint value (Pc); - determine the setpoint position (Z) of at least one group of control rods between said plurality of control rods (40) to reach said setpoint value of said desired target power (Pc) as a function of said estimated duration (DURATION), of said effective effective power (Pe) measured and of said setpoint value of said target power (Pc); - control the position of said at least one group of control rods in order to place it in its setpoint position (Z).
