In vitro method for diagnosing a myeloid tumor or a lymphoid tumor in a subject, comprising the step of analyzing a biological sample of said subject: (i) detecting the presence of a mutation in the gene of member 2 of the Ten family of proteins Eleven Translocation (TET2) encoding the polypeptide having the sequence SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein said mutation is selected from the group consisting of deletions, insertions and point mutations, such as mutations affecting cut sites and splicing, amino acid mutation and terminator mutations, and / or (ii) analyzing the expression of the TET2 gene; wherein the detection of such a TET2 mutation, the absence of expression of TET2, or the expression of a truncated TET2 is indicative of a subject who develops or is predisposed to develop a myeloid tumor or a lymphoid tumor. |
