abstract | Process for preparing polyether carbonate polyols from one or more initiating substances with H functionality, one or more alkylene oxides and carbon dioxide in the presence of a bimetallic cyanide catalyst, characterized in that (α) the bimetallic cyanide catalyst and the initiator substance with functionality H or a mixture of at least two initiator substances with functionality H, (β) for activation (β1) in a first stage of activation a first partial amount is added (with respect to the total amount of the amount of alkylene oxides used in the activation and copolymerization) of one or more alkylene oxides to the mixture resulting from step (α), this addition being made of the partial amount of alkylene oxide in the absence of CO2, (β2) in a second activation stage after the maximum temperature achieved in the previous activation stage a second partial amount is added (with resp ect to the total amount of the amount of alkylene oxides used in the activation and polymerization) of one or more alkylene oxides to the mixture resulting from the previous activation step, this addition of partial amount of alkylene oxide being absent of CO2, (β3) in a third activation stage or additional activation stage after the maximum temperature reached in the previous activation stage is repeated step (β2) one to five times, this addition being made of the partial amount or these additions of partial amounts of alkylene oxide in the absence of CO2 (γ) one or more alkylene oxides and carbon dioxide are added to the mixture resulting from the step (β ("copolymerization"), the partial amount used in each case in the activation in steps β1 to β4 of one or more alkylene oxides of 2.0 to 15.0% by weight (with respect to the total amount of the amount of alkylene oxides used gives activation and copolymerization). |
