abstract | A compound of formula I ** Formula ** or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof where R1 represents H, fluoro, chloro, bromine, cyano, a C1-4 alkyl group optionally substituted with one or more fluoro, a C1-2 alkoxy group optionally substituted with one or more fluoro or a C1-3 alkylthio group optionally substituted with one or more fluoro; R2 represents H or fluoro; R4 represents a group of formula -NRaRb in which a) Ra and Rb independently represent: 1) H; 2) a C1-4 alkyl group optionally substituted with one or more of the following: fluoro, hydroxy, a C1-4 alkoxy group or a C3-6 cycloalkyl group, where the C3-6 cycloalkyl group is optionally substituted with one or more of the following: hydroxy, a C 1-4 alkoxy group or fluoro; 3) a C 3-6 cycloalkyl group optionally substituted with one or more of the following: hydroxy, a C 1-4 alkoxy group or fluoro; 4) a C1-4 alkoxy group C2-4 alkylene in which the alkylene chain is optionally substituted with one or more C1-4 alkyl groups; or 5) Ra represents H, a C1-4 alkyl group or a C3-6 cycloalkyl group and Rb represents a group -L-R8 in which L represents a bond or a C1-4 alkylene chain optionally substituted with one or more groups C1-4 alkyl and R8 represents a saturated 4-7 membered carbon-linked monocyclic heterocyclic ring containing 1 or 2 heteroatoms selected from oxygen and nitrogen optionally substituted with one or more of the following: hydroxy, a C1- alkyl group 4, a C1-4 alkoxy group or a C1-4 alkanoyl group; or b) Ra and Rb together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached represent a saturated 4- to 7-membered monocyclic heterocyclic ring optionally containing an additional oxygen, sulfur, SO or SO2, provided that this additional atom or group is always separated from the nitrogen atom by at least two carbon atoms, and where the ring is optionally substituted with one or more of the following: fluoro, hydroxy, a C1-4 alkoxy group, a C1-4 alkoxycarbonyl group, a cycloalkyl group C3-6 or a C1-4 alkyl group optionally substituted with hydroxy or with a C1-4 alkoxy group, or with one or more fluoro, provided that the substituents that are linked to the ring through a heteroatom are not located on an atom carbon adjacent to none of the ring heteroatoms; or c) Ra and Rb together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached represent a saturated 4- to 7-membered monocyclic heterocyclic ring containing an additional nitrogen optionally substituted on the additional nitrogen atom with a C1-4 alkanoyl group, benzoyl, a C 1-4 alkoxycarbonyl group, a C 1-4 alkylsulfonyl group, carbamoyl, N-C 1-4 alkylcarbamoyl, N, N-di (C 1-4 alkyl) carbamoyl or C 1-4 alkyl; R5 represents H or a C1-3 alkyl group optionally substituted with one or more fluoro, or one of the following: hydroxy or a C1-4 alkoxy group; R6 and R7 independently represent H, fluoro, chloro, bromo, a C1-4 alkyl group optionally substituted with one or more fluoro, a C1-4 alkoxy group optionally substituted with one or more fluoro; provided that R6 and R7 are not in a meta position with respect to each other; and A represents O or S. |
