abstract |
Method of manufacturing xerogel composites, comprising: (a) providing a composition containing an organic gel precursor (A) comprising a monomer component (A1) consisting of at least one polyfunctional isocyanate and a monomer component (A2) consisting of at least one compound selected from polyfunctional amines and polyfunctional hydroxyl compounds; (b) reacting the gel precursor (A) in the presence of an open cell macroporous foam (B) and a solvent (C) to give a xerogel composite material; (c) drying the xerogel composite material by transforming the solvent (C) to the gaseous state at a temperature and pressure below the critical temperature and the critical pressure of the solvent (C). |
